A. FIRST – don’t throw anything out until you have had a vintage/antique dealer in to look at your items! We hear so many horror stories of folks who have thrown items into the garbage only to realize they threw away items valuable to a vintage/antique dealer. Our vendors/dealers will be able to identify which items are worth purchasing and will make you an offer for those items. We are Betty & Bobbi, a mother-daughter duo with a superb team who have a passion for offering amazing customer service. We have owned the Old Strathcona Antique Mall since 2009, although the business has been an icon in the Old Strathcona and Edmonton area since 1997. We have a passion for all things antique & vintage and our favourite pastime is hunting for treasures and bringing those unique pieces to our clients.

Q: How do I sell my items at your mall?
A: Our spaces are all leased to vendors who sign long-term leases. We don’t do consignment however many of our vendors purchase items from individuals and estates. You may contact us with information about the items you are looking to sell.
Q: I just have one item; do you take consignment?
A: I’m sorry, we don’t do consignment. All of our spaces are leased to our vendors. Some of them may be interested in purchasing your items, however. Click here to provide information on the item(s) you are looking to sell.
Q: We are downsizing and looking to get rid of our items. We believe some of them may have some value; how do we sell these to you?
A: This is exactly how many of our vendors find their inventory; from Estates and those looking to downsize. Contact us with information about your items and we can match you with the most appropriate vendor for your items.
Q: I want an appraisal on my items.
A: Sorry, we don’t do appraisals. Please search for “antique appraisers” on the internet to find a local appraiser.
Q: How do I know your vendors are offering a fair price?
A: As vendors/dealers, this is how we make our living, so there has to be a reasonable expectation of profit. Typically a vendor/dealer will offer 1/3 of the retail price (selling price) of an item. 1/3 goes to you, 1/3 goes to the vendor/dealer and 1/3 pays the vendor’s expenses such as rent, fuel, utilities, cleaning supplies, advertising, etc.
We also encourage you to look through our store so that you can gauge what a fair selling price for your items is.
Q: I’m dealing with a hoarder situation and I don’t know where to begin.
A: We deal with all sorts of situations and rarely are we surprised anymore; you don’t need to feel embarrassed. We have a relationship with Estate Cleanup and Personal Assistant firms who can manage cleanup and cleaning of houses for eventual sale or re-tenanting. If there are items of value that the homeowner is willing to sell, then we come in and make an offer on those items; paying for every item we “pick”. Q: I’m looking for a specific item but I don’t see it on your website.
A: We literally have over a million items in our store and all of our vendors have more at home. If there’s something specific that you can’t find, request the item and we will see if we can track it down for you.
Q: Do you have an inventory of the items in your store? I’m looking for something specific.
A. No; with over 100 vendors, our inventory literally changes every single day. If there’s something specific that you are looking for, give us a call or contact us and we will see if we can track it down for you.
Q: Do you ship?
A: Yes, we ship smaller items (no furniture). We have lots of experience packaging and shipping items world wide via our Etsy store https://www.etsy.com/ca/

Q: I see an item and would like to make an offer to that vendor; how do I do that?
A: We have an arrangement with our vendors that for all items priced under $300, the prices are firm. If an item is over this amount, or you are buying multiple items totalling this amount from the same vendor, we can get in touch with them on your behalf and see if they are willing to negotiate.
Q: Where can I park when I come to your location?
A: We have lots of FREE parking, right in our lot.
Q: Do you sell gift cards? I know someone who loves your shop but I don’t know what to purchase.
A: Yes, we sell Gift Cards in any denomination!
Do you have a return policy?
A: Unfortunately we do not accept returns. Almost all of our items have been preloved and are sold as is. Please make sure you love it before you buy it.
